Fort Meyer, Florida is a place with white- sandy beaches, toasty weather, and blue waters. A place for retirees, vacationers, and spring-breakers along the Gulf of Mexico. However in the wooded areas with large bushy trees, insects, and animal predation; is a great place to store eight dead bodies.
The first skeleton found was on March 23 by a surveyor checking the industrial site for potential development. Seven others were soon discovered in a 200-yard radius. There was no personal items or clothing found and no flesh remained on the bone of what are suspected to be human adult bones. The bodies were not buried but placed on the ground and there is evidence of chew marks of animals on the bodies.
Detectives believe in several different theories, it may have been an old crematory or a serial killers graveyard. Although if it were a crematory, the bodies would have been found in the same area, not expanded on a wide piece of land.
Investigators says it will be hard to depict what killed the people without organs or tissue and it is unclear how long the bones have been there. Experts say it is not uncommon for serial killers to dump their victims on the same site and with the remoteness and the elements in the area the bodies may not have been there for very long.
